How To Remove Henna By
few weeks ago, one of my best friends got married. As part of her cultural heritage, there was a “Henna night” celebration. It is customary (and actually good luck for the bride) if her friends get henna on their hands! I willingly signed up – their designs were AMAZING and hey, why not! Just like any great wine, the next day wasn’t as great, I guess it just reminds me why I’ve never gotten a tattoo.
It came out much more pronounced than I thought and looking down and seeing something on my hands kept on freaking me out. Not to mention, for some reason the girl outlined my cuticles with henna – enough said. So the next day I decided to help move the process on a little faster and see how I could remove it myself.
Let me start by saying that there is no easy, cut and dry removal process. Most likely, you’re going to have to wait it out. Through all my Google efforts the best options I came up with were toothpaste and olive oil. I tried Goo Gone and WD-40 too, but olive oil was the most pleasant.
I started with the toothpaste to give myself a little scrub and then finished with some E.V.O.O. Every time I passed the kitchen I made it a point to apply some olive oil to my hands and give it a rub. This helped some of it fade in about a week, although my cuticle henna is still going strong!
